Andersen Master Bathroom
designed by Marina V. Phillips

Project Notes

Master Bath in the Andersen residence, San Jose, California - The project involved enlarging the existing small master bath by removing an adjoining closet, putting in a pocket door instead of a standard swing door, and completely reconfiguring the floor plan. A small acrylic shower enclosure was replaced by a two-person custom tiled shower and a bench with a solid quartz surface.

Lost closet storage was generously compensated for by a floor-to-ceiling linen cabinet, double vanities and wall counter tower. Drawer space was doubled. An outdated tiled countertop gave way to a seamless quartz surface; non-porous and impervious to heat. Larger size porcelain tile was used in the shower and on the floor, combined with multi-color glass mosaic. Safety grab bars were installed in the shower. The new toilet was comfort height and featured the water-saving G-Max mechanism and soft-closing seat.

"5 Stars - We went back to have more work done!"

"We started this exercise by going to two other kitchen designers. Not caring much for their designs, we asked KitchenGalleries to design our kitchen in the last half of 2005. They fairly presented the products they use and counseled us on our needs. The kitchen turned out great.

"We decided to have them do our guest bathroom in the middle of 2006. Again it turned out great. At that point, I thought I could layout the design for the master bath. It was much more involved than I thought and decided to turn it over to KitchenGalleries. They came up with a unique design that completely suited our needs and desires. We now have another great room. We are very happy with their work."
